Annual General Meetings

Minutes of Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Coedeva and Hollybush Hall on Monday 17th February 2025 commencing at 1900hrs

1. Welcome

The chair welcomed all attendees to 2025 AGM

2. Apologies

Peter Heimler, John Kingsley, Nigel Salathiel, Mike Parker

3. Minutes of 2024 AGM

These have been on display on the Webster site for the past 12months with no feedback therefore are accepted by all.

4. Chairman Report

The chairman spoke about the progress, troubles over the past year and way forward with possible resolutions in order for CMS to continue to exist enjoying the hobby and thanked all members for their continued support.

5. Treasurer’s Report

The treasure gave an update of the status of CMS accounts with CMS being in a comfortable financial position able to meet expected costs.
This was accepted.

6. Auditor’s Report

Auditor gave his report with no discrepancies Accepted

7. Club Officers voting (where required)

  • Chairman - Dale Forward agreed to remain as chair until April 2025
  • Vice Chairman - Roger Morgan agreed to remain in the position for a further year
  • Treasurer - Chris Rafferty agreed to remain in the position for further year
  • Auditor - Eugene Hayes has elected to remain in position
  • Secretary - Mick Nowosielski shall stay in the position until the License Agreement with Torfaen County Borough Council is agreed and in place.

8. Use of Cwmbran Boating Lake

An update was given on the progress with the License agreement between Torfaen County Borough Council and Cwmbran Modelling Society. This is still in progress with items continuing to be discussed and progressed via TCBC Executive Members and Ward Elected Members. Once resolved this shall be added as appropriate to CMS constitution and Rules. A quick fix is NOT envisaged with use of Cwmbran Boating Lake continuing.

9. Set Subscriptions for 2025-2026

PROPOSAL - That the annual CMS subscription remain as £20.00

10. Dates for 2024

CMS Open Day shall be Sunday August 10th 2025 SET

PROPOSAL- If the Cwmbran Big Event takes place in 2025 then CMS shall be attending.

11. Meeting night format

After meeting activities shall be added to the Calender of Event on Webster for the full year.

12. CMS logoed clothing

  • Interest was shown by several mambers and shall be followed up
