Updated Welsh Government Covid 19 Restrictions

Mark Drakeford is advising all tourists visiting and staying in Wales to take a Lateral Flow Test prior to their arrival and to bring some with them to use during their stay. The article on the Welsh Government website reads:

“As Wales’ tourism sector prepares for late Spring bank holiday weekend and the start of the summer season, the First Minister urged travellers from all over the UK, especially the 8 hotspot areas in England, to use and pack lateral flow testing kits if they are coming to Wales.

First Minister Mark Drakeford said:

Our tourism businesses will be looking forward to a busy week and the start of the summer season. I urge anyone planning a break in Wales from an area with higher rates of coronavirus, to test themselves regularly, using the free Covid-19 lateral flow tests, before they travel. Only those who have a negative test result and no symptoms of coronavirus should travel.

Everyone coming to Wales from areas with a higher prevalence of coronavirus should bring lateral flow testing kits with them to continue regular testing while on holiday – this is an additional measure to help keep Wales safe. Lateral flow testing kits are also available locally throughout Wales.”

If you forget to bring lateral flow tests with you to use during your stay you can pick some up free of charge from Pontypool in the open air carpark opposite Pontypool Active Living Centre:  Old Mill Car Park, Pontypool NP48AT, they are open every day 08:00 – 13:00

Welsh Government Covid 19 restrictions state that only guests living at the same address or have formed an exclusive extended household/support bubble can holiday with us and that these restrictions cover the whole of Wales. As these restrictions are constantly being reviewed - and will hopefully be extended to 3 households in a few weeks - please check the Welsh Government website or contact us for the most up-to-date information.

The Welsh Government wording states ‘You will only be able to share holiday accommodation with the people you live with. This helps to reduce the risk of coronavirus being transmitted significantly, as sleeping in close proximity to other people carries a high risk of transmission due to the length of time you spend near each other'.

All bookings made directly with us are subject to the understanding that should Government Covid Restrictions prevent you from staying with us you will have the option to either change your dates (subject to availability) or if you prefer we will issue you with a full refund within 24 hours.

To make your stay safe and enjoyable we will continue with our deep clean policy which means that before guests arrive all surfaces, floor tiles, door handles etc. are cleaned with antibacterial/antiviral products and the wet room is steam cleaned and sanitised. As always we will also leave cleaning materials, antibacterial hand wash and hand sanitiser for your own use during your stay. We have key safes/locks for guests' use so that although we will still be in the grounds to meet you on your arrival - should you have any questions you need answered - this will help with social distancing.

Please rest assured that if we have to enter the property for any urgent reason during your stay we will wear PPE to ensure your safety. If you have any questions or specific requirements please get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
