Below is Feedback from the young people in Wye Court's Youth Access Group:

 

What would you change in Torfaen?

1. Sheltered Housing Scheme for 16 – 22 yr olds
2. Young people’s areas – where they can’t move you on
3. Cheaper clothes – they should cost the same wherever you go
4. Saturday jobs for under 16’s
5. Bigger flats
6. Free theme park
7. Lower age limits for drinking, smoking and sex

 

SHELTERED HOUSING - What can we do about it?
What needs to change?
• Sheltered housing for 16 – 22 year olds, a system of flats supervised by trained adults, to train young people to own their own home.

 

How?
• Independent living skills
• Budgeting
• How to cook / clean
• Taking care of yourself

 

Who should be responsible?
• Council
• Young people
• Charities
