Below is feedback from young people at two separate workshops with Springvale Youth Access. the first was run last year, the second section is the most recent:
GROUP 1 - 2006
What would you change in Torfaen?
1. More trips for young people / under 18 night clubs
2. More school buses for Youth Access
3. EMA from year 9
4. Cheaper bus fares
5. Better maintained leisure centres
6. better bus shelters
7. footrests in Youth Access
8. Smoking shelters
TRIPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE - What can we do about it?
What needs to change?
• Funding
• Behaviour
• Attitude to staff and property
• Education should be more fun
• Trust
• Honesty
• Should use trips as a reward for behaviour
How?
• Presentation to the lottery
• Do lots of work (proof in files)
• Stop damaging pens and stuff
• Stop nagging, listen to staff, stick to the rules
• Learn through games, laid back education, internet
• Take risks to be trusted
• Behave and do work as you are told
Who should be responsible?
• Youth Access staff
• Students
• Torfaen Council
• Both do presentations (staff and students)

What would you change in Torfaen?
1. Springvale Youth Access building needs refurbishing
2. shooting range for young people
3. Ice Skating rink in Cwmbran
4. Transport - Free bus to Asda
5. Free fishing pond in Cwmbran
6. Free camp site in Cwmbran
7. Police attitudes towards young people are bad
8. Streets should be cleaner
9. Council only do half a job
10. More police on the streets

• Springvale Youth Access Building should look better
• Cold and damp
• Dean come back

• Proper paint job
• New Chairs
• New carpet
• Central heating

• Painters and decorators

SHOOTING RANGE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE - What needs to change?
• We need a place to go shooting
How?
• Get rid of Greenmeadow Golf Club because there is one in Llanyrafon.
• Demand to Mayor / Queen and fight for it!
• Protest
