Below is the feedback from the Young People at Leadon Court Youth Club in Thornhill:
What would you change in Torfaen?
1. THE HUT (a small round shelter next to the football cage in Thornhill)
THE HUT - What can we do about it?
What needs to change?
• New hut needs to be built
• Bigger, more seats
• Dark blue or red
• 2 See through plastic windows to let light in (like a bus shelter).
• More rainproof (no little holes)
Why?
• There’s nowhere else to hang around
• Without it we would be walking down the street probably causing trouble (at least we would be sat in one place away from other people and not disturbing them).
How?
• Council provides us with paint and we paint it (under supervision)
• Council meeting
• Protest
• Write a letter
Who should be responsible?
• Council but get youths involved (US!)
