stilt walkers holding ballonsSuccessful Logo Launch!

The sun was shinning on the 31st October in Cwmbran town centre when young people from the Torfaen Young People’s Forum (TYPF) held their celebration launch event.

The Forum gives young people a voice and an opportunity to discuss and influence decisions that are made about all young people who live in Torfaen.

On the day town centre visitors were entertained by stilt walkers handing out balloons, rock bands Restricted and Juliet, a circus skills workshops and performances by young people from Musical Youth.

A song writing workshop was held in the library and young people from the Forum wrote and then performed a song that they composed to the tune of ‘Lean on Me.’

The aim of the day was to raise the profile of the Forum and launch the new logo. The winning design with 69% of the vote was picked by young people in the Borough during Local Democracy Week. It will now be used on the Forum’s publicity and marketing materials.

The success of the day was a credit to all the young people involved and their hard work since the start of the project in March. If you would like more information about the work of the Forum then pleyoung people in cwmbran town handing out ballonsase contact Julia Rooney 01495 766473
