Questions and Answers

How do I apply to the fund?

You should read this page carefully and consider whether you meet the criteria. If you think you meet the criteria then you should complete an application form and return it to the address given.

If you are in doubt about your eligibility you can contact the trust fund Administrator who will be happy to help you.

 

How will the fund allocate its money?

The distribution of grants will be decided by the Trustees.

 

What happens when my application is received?

The Administrator will check that your application meets the criteria.

If it does, the application will then be considered at the next meeting of the Trustees for evaluation.

The Mayor of Torfaen County Borough Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

When will I hear about my application?

You will receive an acknowledgement from the Administrator on receipt of your application. This will give you the date of the next meeting of the Trustees where your application will be considered.

 

When will I know if I am successful in my application?

The Administrator will write to you in the week following the meeting.

 

If I am successful when will I receive the grant?

The Trust Administrator will send a cheque for the grant sum to you within 28 days. During the following three months you will be required to provide to the Trust Administrator copies of all receipts for the goods or services bought with your grant and return a completed declaration form. Alternative arrangements to this rule must be agreed with the Administrator.

 

If I am unsuccessful can I appeal?

The decision of the Trust is final.

 

Will I receive any publicity?

Yes, if it is desired.

This may be in the local press, community newspaper or at a mayoral fundraising event.

 

Are there any local businesses supporting the fund?

Many local businesses as well as Community Councils and Councillors have been approached for financial support.

 

How are the funds allocated?

Applications will be initially considered against set criteria. If the application meets the criteria the final decision will sit with the Trustees.

This fund has been established to advance the education of young people in music and the arts, and in order to provide facilities for young people for recreation and leisure time occupation involving, or connected with music and the arts.
