Greenmeadow Community Farm

Working with the Community

We are delighted to work closely with many different community groups. If you belong to a local community group and would like to get involved, please contact us to discuss this.

Spinners & Weavers

The Gwent Guild of Spinners, Weavers & Dyers has been involved with the Farm since it first became a community farm and meet here regularly every Tuesday and Saturday morning. They contribute to the special events that take part at the Farm and we are proud to have them here as they keep this ancient art alive.  They always welcome visitors and new members at their sessions and would be delighted to see you during your visit.  For information about the Guild's programme of events, please see the Events page of the website.

Farm Friends & Green Wellies

Farm Friends and Green Wellies are at the Farm Monday – Friday and they are 2 groups of local adults with learning difficulties who come regularly to the Farm to gain some realistic work experience. Farm Friends assist with jobs such as filling the animal feed bags, maintaining the wishing well and the pond and are a valuable group to have on board.  Green Wellies have transformed an overgrown area of the Farm into a productive garden and wildlife haven.  Some of the produce which they grow is used in the Farm café and you can also purchase some of their goods in our Farm shop.  Green Wellies also offer a local gardening service - please call for further details.

Ceffyl Du Carriage Driving for the Disabled

Ceffyl Du Carriage Driving for the Disabled is a registered charity which meets regularly at the Farm throughout the summer season (April - September). Their aim is to provide disabled people with the opportunity to carriage drive using a pony and trap in order to benefit their health, well-being and quality of life. If you are interested in driving with the group or volunteering, please call them directly on 0845 241 4318 or download the attached Ceffyl Du Carriage Driving for the Disabled Group Information Sheet|.
