Blaenafon Mountain Tours
Mountain Tours, guided walks and mountain bike hire, is a newly formed company aimed at the tourist industry. We offer a range of guided walks in and around the World Heritage Site of Blaenafon, South Wales. Our walks are from easy rambles around the town to a 2 day pre-booked expedition.
We also do mountain bike hire with cycles to suit the able bodied and disabled. There is an optional pick up service available at 3 points along one of our suggested routes. See the gallery page for some great views you'll see on your walk or bike ride.
Your guide Gerry Woodhouse is a voluntary ranger for the World Heritage site. He was also a scout master, canoeing instructor and abseiler. A keen outdoor enthusiast, Gerry also has mountain first aid qualifications. With a deep interest in the town and history of Blaenafon you will have an informative and fun day out.
The town of Blaenafon (or Blaenavon) was one of the cradles of the industrial revolution. We were granted World Heritage status in 2002 in recognition of this. The sights include the iron works built in 1789, Big Pit mining museum, World Heritage visitor centre and Workmen's Hall. All this is situated amid some beautiful mountains, moorland and woodland.
