Get Broadband

Wireless Broadband

Wireless is the most recent broadband technology and is a cost-effective method of delivering Broadband services to areas where ADSL and Cable cannot reach. Most services are asymmetric but symmetrical can be installed at a greater cost.

It works by relaying signals transmitted from a centrally located broadcast tower to special antennas fixed to homes or businesses throughout a local area. The central tower transmits to a maximum 35-mile radius.

In many parts of Wales, small communities are creating their own wireless networks. These networks benefit both businesses and consumers in the local area.

Wireless Hotspots are being installed all over urban areas in Wales. These use WIFI technology to tap into wireless networks up to 350 feet from a base station.

Most laptops are now wireless enabled, allowing you to access broadband speed Internet services whilst you are on the move. You need to register to use these services but once this has been done, you can access the internet in a variety of bars, restaurants, hotels are service stations all over the country.

As with Satellite poor weather can affect performance and cause interference.

Wireless systems are quick to install, reliable and safe, with low running costs.
