Get Broadband

How Does Broadband Work?

Broadband services can be delivered through a variety of technologies. These include:

ADSL|

ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology is available in several forms and is the service most commonly associated with broadband.

Cable|

Cable provision is limited to the Urban and suburban areas of South East and South West Wales.

Satellite|

Satellite is the only broadband technology that is able to reach virtually any part of the United Kingdom. This is critical in rural areas where ADSL and cable may never be available and wireless cannot always operate effectively.

Wireless|

Wireless is the most recent broadband technology and is a cost-effective method of delivering Broadband services to areas where ADSL and Cable cannot reach. Most services are asymmetric but symmetrical can be installed at a greater cost.

Each of these run at least 10 times faster than a 56k dial up modem
