Cwmbran V Croesyceiliog (Jack Walker Cup)

16 November 2005

Croesy make 9 changes from the side that started against Mountain Ash for Wednesday's Jack Walker Cup match against Cwmbran. In the forwards only props Marc Watkins and Justin Smith remain and they are joined in the front row by guest player Jamie Jeune at hooker replacing the injured Anthony Axford. With 4 quality second rows in the club now this is an opportunity to give regulars Lee Williams and Ritchie Gibbins a rest (although Lee plays the day before for the Dragons Amateur Regional side against the Scarlets). In come Mark Smith and Jim Sargent. In the back row Larry Williams and Bobby Pike take a well earned break after storming games on Saturday and Paul Hicks is also rested after picking up a knock. In come Jake Nash and Paul Fisher on the flanks, both returning from injury with Steven Thomas at No 8.

Fit again Nathan Powell replaces Ritchie Williams at scrum-half. The midfield trio of Chris Landry, Matthew Entwistle and David Davies remain and Matthew Hiatt moves from wing to full-back in place of the injured Gareth Roberts. Chris Haddock and Will Hamilton come in on the wing.

The full side is:

1. Marc Watkins 2. Jamie Jeune 3. Justin Smith 4. Jim Sargent 5. Mark Smith 6. Jake Nash 7. Paul Fisher 8. Steven Thomas 9. Nathan Powell 10. Chris Landry 11. Will Hamilton 12. Matthew Entwistle (Capt) 13. David Davies 14. Chris Haddock 15. Matthew Hiatt
