Croesyceiliog 17 Llantrisant 45

1 October 2005

Croesy suffered one of their worst home defeats in recent times going down 17-45 to a Llantrisant side who simply showed more commitment than Croesy and who wanted to win more. They conceded 8 tries with many of them from long range with the visitors seemingly running them in at will virtually unopposed.

The only bright spot for Croesy was a short period mid-way through the second half when it looked briefly as though they would mount a fight back. They scored 2 converted tries in this period through pacey winger Rhodri Davies to bring the score back to 17-35. But instead of pressing for more they went back into their shell and conceded 2 further tries in the dying minutes.

This game was a severe blow for all involved and will undoubtedly dent confidence after some good workouts in training which has been well-attended. But it is early in the season and training has been going well and with the right attitude and commitment there is no reason that it cannot be turned around starting at Rhydyfelyn this Saturday.
