New Tredegar 21 Croesy 30
Croesy got on the winning trail with a 5-try bonus point performance against hosts New Tredegar. Croesy played some lovely rugby with forwards and backs interpassing and scored some great tries through Matthew Entwistle (2), Shane Williams, Jake Nash and Gavin Holmes. Entwistle also added 3 conversions. If Croesy play this brand of high tempo rugby they will win more games than they lose this season and might even do enough to win the "Old Codgers" around.
The only down side was that they allowed New Tredegar back into the game with some poor defence. In fairness, this was a very new Croesy back line and they need time to get used to playing together and to adjust to the defensive patterns.
