Garndiffaith away 26th Jan 08

Croesy travelled to Garndiffaith with an experimental team hoping to complete the double over a side that they had defeated comfortably last September. Garndiffaith however dominated possession in the first half playing against the wind, as Croesy's discipline let them down. However in a rare incursion into the Garndiffaith 22, Croesy scored a well-worked pushover try from a lineout with Jake Nash emerging from the bottom of a pile of players having secured the touchdown. This was followed by a further try late in the first half by Tim Hanks following a strong run down the left wing. The try was converted by Mathew Entwhistle. Garndiffaith replied with

a penalty and try and conversion. The half-time score gave Croesy a narrow 12-10 lead.

With the advantage of the wind Garndiffaith started the 2nd half strongly scoring a converted try near the posts and a further try following Croesy indiscipline to lead 22-12. Croesy did however  pull themselves back into the game when they could have folded and eventually gained some reward through a try following another strong run down the wing by Rob Baldock. At 22-17 it  appeared that Croesy would at least gain a bonus point, but right at the death Garndiffaith's outside half scored a drop-goal to deny Croesy.

This was the third close defeat in recent weeks for Croesy against the top three teams in the league, all of which could have gone Croesy's way..
