Llantwit Fardre home 110407

Croesyceiliog 29 Llantwit Fardre 18

The Cockerels gave a battling performance to gain revenge over Llantwit Fardre for a last minute defeat a month earlier. Croesy players showed great character to come back from Saturday's heavy defeat at Pill which severely dented any remaining hopes of staving off relegation.

Croesy led 15-3 thanks to tries from wings Scott Copsey and Rhodri Davies and a Matthew Entwistle penalty and conversion. But they surrendered the lead mid way through the second half as the visitors came back to 18-15. This stirred the Cockerels back into action as they rallied through an Entwistle try and conversion and a final try from Gavin Howells also converted by Entwistle.

The win, Croesy's 4th in 6 games, meant they went into their final game away to Rhydyfelin still with the possibility of staying up.

The Croesy side was:

1. Marc Watkins; 2. Simon Jones (Rob Taylor 40 mins); 3. Justin Smith; 4. Mark Smith; 5. Jim Sargeant 6. Jake Nash (40 mins); 7. Richard Gibbins 8. Gavin Howells; 9. Ritchie Williams; 10. Gavin Holmes; 11. Rhodrin Davies; 12. Matthew Entwistle; 13. Shane Williams; 14. Scott Copsey; 15. Adrian Smith.

Scorers: tries Scott Copsey, Rhodri Davies, Gavin Howells, Matthew Entwistle plus 3 conversions and a penalty.
