Players Reunion 20th March 2009

We are holding a players reunion at the club on Friday 20th March at 8.00 p.m.

As if we need an excuse for a get-together, there are a few significant anniversaries this year:

  • 20 years since Croesy played Swansea in the Welsh Cup (before the days of Regions)
  • 30 years since Croesy's first appearance in the Ben Francis Cup Final (alright I know we lost but it was quite unique how we got there in the first place - the younger players among you will have to turn up on the night to find out the story)
  • 40 years since the appointment of Croesy's first ever coach (now I know you think it seems like John Kerry has been here that long - but its actually Colin Cobley)
  • But most importantly, its 30 years since a 4-man team of Croesy players became the first out of town team to win the famous Tetbury Woolsack Race (a pint for anyone who can name the team)

There must be some other good reasons to turn up....oh yes I remember now....a free buffet and free beer....and no game for our current players the next day (its Wales v Ireland).

So lets have no excuses.  All players, committee, coaches and supporters, past and present are very welcome; the more the merrier.
