At The Races

At The Races is a dedicated horse racing channel broadcasting live action from the UK, Ireland, North America and Germany. The company is a partnership between British Sky Broadcasting, Arena Leisure Plc and 28 UK racecourses with the aim of delivering the very best quality racing coverage to over 9 million UK and Irish homes via Digital Satellite and Cable Television.

Which UK and Irish courses does At The Races have the rights to broadcast?

We currently have the rights to broadcast racing from the following tracks in the UK: Ascot, Bath, Brighton, Chepstow, Exeter, Fakenham, Folkestone, Fontwell, Hereford, Hexham, Kelso, Leicester, Lingfield, Newcastle, Newton Abbot, Perth, Plumpton, Ripon, Sedgefield, Southwell, Stratford, Taunton, Towcester, Uttoxeter, Windsor, Wolverhampton, Worcester and Yarmouth.

We will televise live racing from each of the 27 Irish racecourses scheduled to hold over 300 meetings in 2005. These are: Ballinrobe, Bellewstown, Clonmel, Cork, Curragh, Down Royal, Downpatrick, Dundalk, Fairyhouse, Galway, Gowran, Kilbeggan, Killarney, Laytown, Leopardstown, Limerick, Listowel, Naas, Navan, Punchestown, Roscommon, Sligo, Thurles, Tipperary, Tralee, Tramore and Wexford.

We have signed an agreement with Doncaster to broadcast racing from May 2007.

Does At The Races broadcast any overseas racing?

Yes. We also broadcast live action from a variety of tracks in North America every evening as well as selected high-profile meetings from France and the Dubai International Racing Carnival.

How will racing benefit from At The Races?

We believe that to maintain racing's position in the competitive sports and leisure market, the sport must have the exposure which only a non-subscription channel can offer. Racing from At The Races' courses already reaches over a million viewers each month. At The Races' UK racecourse partners benefit financially as licensors of their media rights as well as being participants in the ownership and management of the company. The wide exposure given to these courses also means that sponsorship opportunities should be enhanced which in turn benefits racing directly.

Will At The Races ever charge subscription?

No. Our commitment is to remain a channel that is available to the widest possible number of viewers. For that reason, At The Races is part of the Sky's Family Package with no additional charge. At The Races is also currently available to cable subscribers in the UK through Telewest and NTL and in Ireland through NTL Ireland and Chorus.
