The village of Garndiffaith has had a bowling club since 1926, but for sixty years it was as were many other bowling clubs for men only. But in Nov 1986 a meeting was held at Garndiffaith and the object of the meeting was to form a Ladies Bowls Club, the chairman of the men's club Mr Fred Carey conducted the meeting and he was assisted by Councillor G Miles President of the men's club. the meeting was attended by quite a number of ladies who were interested in forming a Ladies Bowls club, also a number of men's club members were present.

 

This photograph shows the winner and runner up of the Torfaen Ladies Bowls Tournament for 2005.  The winner was Mrs Kath Samuel of Garndiffaith Ladies Bowls Club and the runner up was Mrs Val Hall of Pontyfelin Ladies Bowls Club.

 

Garndiffaith ladies bowls club are pleased to welcome three new members to our club for the 2008 season, good luck to the three of you.
