Review of Season 2006
Review of Season 2006
Last season was yet another record-breaking year in the clubs history.
The Club lifted two Club Championship Titles, and in doing so extended their record of nineteen Eastern Valley Bowling Association Club Championship Titles and a record ten Eastern Valley Bowling Association Leisure League Club Championships.
It is worthy of note that both titles were won with an unbeaten run in all matches.
However, there was a downside to the season when the club was relegated from the 1st Division of the Monmouthshire Bowling Association Club Championship for the first time since its inception in 1994.
I am sure that with the influx of our new members we will bounce back and regain promotion in 2007.
The officers and members of the Club are extremely proud that one of our youngest players, current Welsh International Kevin Wall, had been selected to represent Wales in the Commonwealth Games Bowls Championships held in Melbourne Australia in March 2006.
Although he did not reach the medal stage he gave an excellent personal performance and subsequently retained his International place in the Welsh Team at the British Isles' Home Internationals held in Carlisle in June 2006.
