Cwmbran Park Bowling Club

Latest News

8 August 2010

Congratulations James Davies and Joshua Parsonage

James and Josh are the youngest members of the club and took up the sport of flat green bowls a couple of years ago. During that time they have progressed and are fast developing into proficient bowlers.

This season they have both made an impression in Monmouthshire County Bowls in the Under 16s and Under 18s Competitions.

Josh has been selected as reserve for the Welsh Bowling Association Alan Williams Trophy Pairs Competition Final to be held at Llandrindod Bowls Club on Sunday 22 August 2010.

Monmouthshire Bowling Association U16s Singles Championship

On 31 July 2010 the Monmouthshire Bowling Association Finals Day was held at Newport Athletic Bowls Club.

James unfortunately lost in the Final of the U16s Singles Championship to an in form Joe Mower of Brynmawr Bowls Club.

Monmouthshire Bowling Association U18s Singles Championship

In the final of the U18 Singles Championship James narrowly lost to Adam King of Cwm Welfare Bowls Club.

After a slow start James fought back to lie game but lost 21 – 19 to an excellent last Bowl from Adam.

This achievement at County level now qualifies James to compete in the Welsh Bowling Association Championship Finals to be held at Llandrindod Bowls Club on Sunday 15 to Friday 20 August for the U18s Singles Champion of Wales.

As a club we are proud of these youngsters as they are the first in the Clubs History to compete in these competitions.

Good Luck to you both.

Anyone wishing to take up the sport why not come along to our club night held every Tuesday Evening at 6.00pm at Cwmbran Park for a taster session.
