Pontyfelin Bowls Club

Pontyfelin Bowls Club is a Private Members Club formed in 1961 and situated at New Road New Inn Pontypool (Behind the P.I.L.C Social Club and opposite the Fire Station).

The Club was originally the Pilkingtons Bowls Club from 1961 - 1993, then Owens Corning Bowls Club from 1994 - 2002 and finally Pontyfelin Bowls Club from 2003 to the present day.(See club history for further information.)

The Club competes in the Welsh, Monmouthshire and Eastern Valley Leagues and Competitions. League Matches are played on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The Club also competes in the Torfaen Leisure League on Monday afternoons.

The Ladies Section competes in the South Wales and Mon Leagues and the Team is current league champions. County League Matches are played on Tuesdays and Friendly matches on Thursdays. The Ladies meet on Monday afternoons at 2pm for practice sessions and all are welcome.

New Members - Ladies and Gentlemen

The Club welcomes new members and has Club practice sessions on Monday afternoons for Ladies and Tuesday evenings during the season from 5pm for men.

Tuition is available by qualified coaches and all the necessary equipment can be provided.

Vintage Train Service

Blaenavon Heritage Railway is set in the heart of a World Heritage Site on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and has approximately 3½ miles of track. You can travel from our main station at Furnace Sidings to the Big Pit National Mining Museum for an underground tour.
