Stonehenge Unhinged

Image of Stonehenge the circle of stones that can be found on the Salisbury PlainStanding on the open chalk down land of Salisbury Plain lies Stonehenge.

A circle of standing stones that apparently took thousands of people, thousands of years to build.

Stonehenge is a remarkable mystery. It has attracted visitors for over 5,000 years. Theories for it's existence range from observation of astronomical phenomena, summer and winter solstices, eclipses and a lot more. Maybe it was used as an observatory, an ancient clock or even a calendar used to track the coming and going of the seasons.

Lately some new theories have come to light that go against anything put forward before.

There was activity on the Stonehenge site as far back as 11,000 years ago, but, it wasn't until 2100BC that stones started to be erected.

What if the beings responsible for erecting the stones didn't have any higher ambition than to create a circle. And, what if the entities responsible weren't human beings but creatures from another planet. Towering above cavemen they would have found the transportation of the stones (some as big as 45 tons) easy.

Having watched programs on domino toppling it suddenly occurred to me that maybe this was the key to the mystery of Stonehenge. Suppose Stonehenge was the site of the 1st domino toppling championships but using stones instead of domino's. This throws out all the old superstitious ramblings of what the area was might have been used for.

Even aliens have to play games!

(P.S while I was researching this article I came across some alternative pictures for Stonehenge i.e.: any ideas for names anyone!)
