Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy
Douglas Adam's novel The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy has finally hit the big screen with a beautifully executed film version.
Martin Freeman (The Office) plays Arthur Dent, whoose day starts off badly when first, his house is demolished by the local council to make way for a bypass. And secondly, his planet is demolished by the Vogon's to make way for an Inter-Galactic Highway.
Luckily and unbeknown to Arthur his best friend Ford Prefect is an Alien Inter-Galactic Hitchhiker who whips him off the planet just in time to save his life!
And so the tale begins.
The special effects are breathtaking and the story motors along at a cracking pace.
It did help that I had read the book as the sheer diversity of information can be a bit baffeling .
The story gets a bit bogged down trying to explain the Improbability Drive but soon picks up momentum and romps home as a winner.
A great must see film for fans of Douglas Adams
