Yourself
The best piece of any equipment is you, you can use your senses and your the one that sets up the equipment and monitors them.
Torch
The one thing you definatly need if you are doing night investigations
A camera
Anormal camera or digital camera will do, both of them have there advantages and disavantages. A camera is important to catch any activity on film.
Pen and paper
You need to note what is happening, make sketches and plans.
A friend
This is best when doing investigations, there is some one there if you need them and plus it can back you evidence up.

Thermometers digital and non-digital
There is many types of thermometers which is used to monitor the tempreture of an area or point. There are room thermometers and laser thermometers, room thermometers mesure the tempreture in a room or area and a laser thermometer mesures at the point of the laser. Tape recorders or digital recorders
These are used to record any noises and also for use during interviews. These are used to try to catch EVP or electro voice phenomena.
Video cameras
This is used to visualy record any activity.
Motion Alarms
These are used to notify the investigator if there is any natural or un - natural movement at a location.
Door alarms
This is to seal of a door so no one can enter an area. this is very useful if you suspect fraud or in the case of any activity in a room and the alarms dont go off then it could provide evidence for paranormal activiy. A piece of cotton or candle wax is also very useful for sealing doors.
