RIP South Wales

Old miners hospital

Old miners hospital September 2006

Location:- private

The team consisted of Maryse Dixon & Gareth Mates

some past employees of the building were also present

Equipment used:- Gaussmaster emf meter, digital camera, laser thermometer, room alarms, motion alarms, digital dictation machine and cctv system.

The investigation started at about 9.30pm after we were shown around the building. The building consists of 3 floors plus the attic, a basement that once was the morgue and a conservetry. Overall there was 60 different rooms.

Baseline readings were taken in the rooms that had the most paranormal occurences.

The team split out into two and went to two separate rooms and observed the equipment. one room was making the occupant's feel sick and dizzy. a investigator went in with some meters but nothing natural could be found to explain the sickness. one possibility could be that the occupant's were feeling quite nervous about spending the night in such a big building.

No other acctivity was reported until 12.45am when one of the investigators asked if there was any other presence in the room and if it was could it give them a sign, shortly after there was a knocking at the wall. when asked to do it again there was another knock. A hour passed and there was no further activity and the team moved on.

At  about 1.55 am some photos were taken in the attic and a large light anomaly was caught on camera. The team remained in the attic but the activity ceased again.

The team decided to go back to the earlier room that had knocking in it and set up another dictation machine, as the team addressed the anomaly again there was interference on one of the walkie talkies. there was two other walkie talkies in the room but there was only interference from the one walkie talkie. Many theories were put forward such as interference from other radio users possibly taxi drivers, but at 3.00am in the morning the cant be that many taxi drivers in the area. Another reason to exclude the taxi theory was that the interference only kicked in when questions were asked.

EVP collected on site in response to questions

The team retired for a break at about 3.30 am, after about ten minutes there was footsteps coming from the floor above, some of the investigators run upstairs to find the cause of the noise but when they got to the room there was no more noise but a strange smell of perfume, this was odd because all the rooms smelt musky and damp and none of the people present was wearing perfum.

 The investigation ended at 5.00am
