1 x Aaronia Multidetector ll Electro smog EMF meter: Used to monitor the electromagnetic frequency of an area. Electromagnetic Fluctuations can cause some people to feel the conditions that are attributed to the paranormal such as Headaches, Nausea, the feeling of being watched and feeling cold, EMF's are present everywhere and are given off by electrical appliances such as TV's and Computers. Also the earth has its own magnetic field. This meter also includes an electric field sensor which can measure the electrical field. This meter isn't as sensitive as the natural EM meter.
1 x G-UK Advanced EMF meter: Used to monitor the electromagnetic frequency of an area. Electromagnetic Fluctuations can cause some people to feel the conditions that are attributed to the paranormal such as Headaches, Nausea, the feeling of being watched and feeling cold, EMF's are present everywhere and are giving off by electrical appliances such as TV's and Computers. 2 x Cellsensor EMF meter: Used to monitor the electromagnetic frequency of an area. Electromagnetic Fluctuations can cause some people to feel the conditions that are attributed to the paranormal such as Headaches, Nausea, the feeling of being watched and feeling cold, EMF's are present everywhere and are given off by electrical appliances such as TV's and Computers. Also the earth has its own magnetic field.
1 x Non Contact Laser thermometer: The thermometer emits a laser which measures the temperature at the point that the laser hits. Some investigators suggest that a rapid change of temperature can be caused by a ghost. The research we follow is that rapid changes of temperature can cause people to feel the conditions that can be mistaken as paranormal activity such as cold feelings and the hair standing on the back of your neck. This is a natural phenomena.
1 x 4 –in – 1 Environmental meter: This meter can measure the light intensity, sound level, humidity and temperature.
2 x Weather stations: These units can measure the humidity, temperature, upcoming weather and atmospheric pressure. These units also receive temperature readings from a wireless sensor which can be placed at a distance away from the main units.
2 x Temperature sensor: These sensors transmit the temperature from a location remotely back to the weather stations.
1 x Natural EM meter: This meter is a variation of the above EMF meters but does the following as well. This type of EMF Meter is designed to only monitor the earths natural magnetic field, it will set off an audible alarm when the field changes. It also can detect radio waves, electric fields and microwaves and will also set off an audible alarm when the fields change. This meter is so sensitive it can even detect the electricity that is given off by humans and animals.
1 x Radiac survey meter: This meter measures the radiation in the air. There are theories that suggest that ghosts can affect or give off radiation. We at R.I.P. South Wales personally use this piece of equipment to rule out all natural explanations including radiation poisoning that can lead to symptoms that are associated with paranormal experiences.
1 x Canum I Ultrasound Meter: This meter detects Ultrasonic frequencies and converts them to a frequency that can be heard by a human. The theory behind this meter is that dogs can seem to react oddly at locations that are alleged to have paranormal activity and the theory is that they are picking up on high ultrasonic frequencies that are affecting them. The meter is used to see if these frequencies are present and also it's used when audio is recorded so any high frequencies can be heard and any audio that has these frequencies on them can be ignored due to contamination.
1 x Negative Ion Detector: This meter detects negative Ions in the air and a light will flash and a tone will sound when negative ions are detected. The reason why this is used is because high levels of negative ions can cause a cooling affect which makes people feel cold. Also this meter detects electrostatic in the air which makes your hair stand on its end which can be attributed to paranormal activity.

We have various cameras which all serve the same purpose of monitoring and recording images and video
1x Wired CCTV camera
1 x VCR: This is connected to TV's and Cameras to record the footage from the cameras.
1 x 19" Flat Screen TV: This is connected to our video recorders and cameras so we can monitor a location from a distance.
3 x Digital Camera: Used to take photos of locations for mapping and to try to capture visual anomalies on camera.
1 x 4 Camera DVR System: This is a system where we can watch and record images from 4 cameras at the same time using one screen. The images are recorded onto a hard drive.
1 x Flat screen PC Monitor: This is connected to the DVR to view the images.
Audio
1 x Digital Dictation Machine: Used to record sounds at a location and possible to attempt to record EVP's.
1 x Analogue Dictation Machine: Used to record sounds at a location and possible to attempt to record EVP's
4 x Walkie Talkies: These are used so the team can remain in constant contact with each other.

1 x Geophone: This piece of equipment amplifies sounds, so very quiet sounds and vibrations can be heard by the human ear. This equipment is used to see if there is movement to footsteps.
Computing
1 x Desktop PC with Audacity software: The PC is connected to the G-UK Advanced EMF meter and the EMF meters fluctuations are recorded on the Audacity software that lets you monitor the audio level.
1 x Laptop with Audacity Software: The Laptop is connected to our geophone via a 3.5mm audio cable and the fluctuations in sound are recorded and displayed in real time by the laptop.
Miscellaneous
1 x Motion alarm: This is placed in an area and if anyone crosses its IR beam then it will set off an audible alarm. This is used to eliminate fraud.
7 x Tripod / Mini Tripod: These are used to place cameras and various pieces of equipment on so a stable base can be applied at multiple heights and locations.
1 x Beam Barrier Motion Alarm: this is two pieces of equipment which are placed either side of a door way or corridor and an IR beam is sent between them. If this beam is broken then an alarm will sound. It use is the same as above.
Pre-Investigation Analysis
Two Members of the team, (Roger Dixon & Gareth Mates) Visited the Inn to get a tour and to look at the areas which have had reported activity in them.
The members took a few pieces of equipment with them to get some baseline readings. These pieces of equipment were: G-UK Advanced EMF Meter, Aaronia Multidetector ll Electro smog EMF meter and a 4 – in 1 environmental meter. Readings were taken and noted afterwards.
Present Investigators discussed with the staff the activity that has been reported.
No activity was noted or experienced during visit.
Investigation
Explanation of terms
EVP stands for Electronic Voice Phenomena and this is where questions are asked openly to an location and recorded on a tape player or digital dictation machine and then played back to see if there is any unexplained noises or voices on the recording.
Vigil is another term for the team visiting and staying in one area to carry out data gathering.
Positive data is another term for images, videos, audio or other types of readings that have been collected that might point towards being paranormal activity.
Natural phenomena are when activity that has occurred is actually natural or man made and not paranormal.
Walkthrough is where we visit a area and collect readings without holding a vigil, this may be because the area is two small, noisy or that the team will visit the area later in the investigation in smaller numbers.
Callout is where a person will shout out a name or sentence that is associated with the location to try and get a response on equipment such as audio or visual equipment.

The team arrived at the location and was greeted by Staff. The team proceeded
to sit down and have a meal and discuss the activity with staff and customers.

Method
The investigators arrived at this area and started to collect readings around the stairs.
Equipment was monitored and photos were taken.
The Canum I picked up varying levels of Ultrasonic waves in the room.

Equipment used: - Negative Ion detector, Canum I, Cellsensor EMF Meter, Digital camera x 2, Laser thermometer, Natural EM Meter and Digital Dictation Machine.
Method
The team arrived at this area and began to take photos and readings. There was a constant reading on the Canum I ultrasound meter. An EVP Session commenced at 2:15am and ended at 2:50am, during this time a Callout session was undertaken. Members of staff called out for a 'spirit of a little girl'.

Method
To try and see if a response would be registered when strangers were removed from the area the team left except Hannah to make sure there was no misinterpretation of evidence, A callout session was undertaken and activity was prompted to move a trigger object.

Method: The present team sat in the bar and monitored the equipment in the area. Photos were taken. Investigators sat at the bar so they would not be heard in other areas as the second team was very near. The investigators then visited the kitchen and took photos and readings.

Gareth Mates
This was a great investigation and location and it was a shame that no activity was encountered or recorded.
It was very interesting to hear about the past reports and history. I personally would like to revisit the location and carry out another investigation because I feel that there is activity but it did not show itself at the time we were present.
I also feel that there is possible explanation for some of the reported activity
Conclusion
All the theories that are offered are only theories and there is not conclusive proof that this is the actual cause of types of paranormal phenomena. The theories that are offered are the best ones that R.I.P. South Wales can use to explain the activity.
After reviewing the data collected. We looked at trying to find a natural explanation for the reported activity.
We didn't encounter any unusual temperature or EMF changes and they stayed steady all evening.
Possible Natural Explanations
Infrasound
Infrasound is a level of sound that ranges from 1 Hz to 20Hz; this is a low frequency that is inaudible to the human ear.
Infrasound can cause people to experience different sensations that are attributed to paranormal phenomena. These are:-
· Coldness
· Headaches
· Sightings of 'apparitions' or black shadows quickly moving out of the corner of your eye
· Dizziness
· Disorientation
· Nausea
· The feeling of being watched
The eyeball vibrates at about 18 Hz - 19 Hz and when there is a infrasonic frequency of 18 Hz - 19 Hz it causes the person to 'see' a dark shape or apparition.
There are many causes of infrasound these range from the man made such as the vibration of a fan or motor or natural causes such as waves on the ocean or even some animals such as Elephants.
We feel that this could explain some of the activity at the Lighthouse Inn, the fact that the inn is next to a source of infrasound from waves and that you have electrical appliances running all the time.
We picked up constant vibrations on the geophone and ultrasound meter so this strongly suggests that Infrasound may be the cause for some of the activity.
Final Conclusion
We at R.I.P. South Wales feel that another investigation is needed to fully assess if there is paranormal activity at the Inn. We would also like a chance to test out a few theories we have to explain the activity.
Unfortunately some of our audio recordings had to be ignored as we could hear people talking in the bar.
