Rules & Regulations
1. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for and shall make good repair any loss, damage or injury caused or occasioned by him/her, or through his/her exhibit and shall indemnify and hold blameless Pontypool & District Horse Show against all legal and other proceedings in regard thereto.
2. Pontypool & District Horse Show shall not hold themselves responsible for and loss of, or damage to any exhibit at the show, or any property belonging to any Exhibitor, or for any error of description in the catalogue, or for any accident, injury or damage, however caused occurring to any Exhibitor, or his/her servant, or any person attending the show.
3. Although a public address system is normally provided the show has no responsibility for ensuring sound coverage across the whole showground. It is therefore each competitor's responsibility to ensure they present themselves in the ring in time for their chosen class.
4. Exhibitors should ensure that they are adequately covered by third party insurance.
5. All animals especially colts and stallions, must be under control at all times. All colts two years old and over must be shown with a bit.
6. NO ANIMALS ARE TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED WHEN TIED TO THE OUTSIDE OF LORRIES OR BOXES.
7. All riders when mounted must wear an approved hat, suitably fastened where appropriate. Stewards will enforce this rule.
8. A fall of horse or rider in any of the ridden classes will result in elimination of the rider from that class. The rider is strongly advised to see a doctor before continuing to compete in any other classes. Any rider continuing to compete after a fall will compete at their own risk and on their own responsibility.
9. No refund of entry will be given, if the show is cancelled then half the entry will be refunded if requested within 7 days of show date.
10. Any person wishing to lodge an objection must first deposit £10.00 with the secretary, then submit the objection in writing within 30 minutes of the result. The £10.00 will be forfeit if the objection is not upheld by the show.
11. The judges decision is final. The show reserves the right to: refuse entry without any given reason; alter any advertised times or sequence of events; eliminate any competitor who is not adhering to the rules; cancel any class with less than 3 entries or amalgamate classes if insufficient entries are received.
12. All entries to be received by 19 April on the appropriate printed form.
13. The Show is affiliated to W.P.C.S. Wales & Border Counties. Gwent Area and is subject to the rules thereof.
14. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that all animals entered are free from all notifiable disease and hold a valid passport. The shows Veterinary Officer will request any animal showing clinical signs of Equine Flu to remove immediately from the show ground.
15. All times are approximate and the committee reserve the right to alter and move classes as necessary
