Welcome
I have set up the website My Challenge| to help promote my community fundraising projects for 2008 and 2009.
During 2008 I will be supporting the Bobby Moore Fund| for bowel cancer. Part of Cancer Research UK, the Bobby Moore fund raises money for research into bowel cancer in memory of footballer Bobby Moore.
My personal challenge for the year is to take part in a community project in South Africa and to raise £4,000 sponsorship for the charity.
Details of my fundraising activities will be posted on the web site. My challenge to you is to get involved as much or as little as you wish, whether supporting or attending the events, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
About My Challenge
Following past successful charity fundraising work, in particular the Cuba Challenge 2005 for CLIC Sargent, I was recognised in the 2006 Torfaen Woman Year of the Awards.
Since then people have asked "what next?" or "how can I do something like that?" So I decided to set up a page for people to visit to view up and coming events and find out how they can become involved. The aim of the site is to raise interest and awareness of the charities and their work, and of the projects I am supporting.
Past charities supported include CLIC Sargent, Cancer Research UK, The Stroke Association, The Noah's Ark Appeal, Macmillan Cancer Support, Children Today, The Sparkle Appeal and the Tsunami Appeal.
My chosen charity for 2008 is the Bobby Moore Fund for bowel cancer. The fund was set up by Stephanie Moore, in memory of her late husband, footballer Bobby Moore.
Plans for 2009 and 2010 are currently underway, however they are still top secret! I can't disclose details yet, but I can promise that it will be good! Keep tuned!
