Caldicot Castle
Caldicot Castle
July 6th 2008
With heavy rain falling through out the night, Caldicot Castle was going to resemble last years show with the show field looking like Glastonbury. By 8am. The rain stopped and sun even began to shine. We took our chance and got the Morris ready.
We arrived at the Castle car park and waited for a few more Morris’s to arrive so we could all enter the show field together. Ann Honeychuck and husband, with their restored saloon, Godfrey Crew, with his Bomb Disposal Van, Adrian Crew with the families Milk Float and John with his Military traveller all arrived and we assembled on the field.
Today was going to be a special day for us Morris Minor Owners as it was hoped that we could gather 60 Morris Minors on the same show field together to help celebrate the Morris Minors 60th. Anniversary. We only managed 20 but the day was turning out to be better weather wise. The sun shone for almost all of the day and the MG Owners Club managed 150 out of 250 vehicles.
A vast verity of classic cars were all lined up for the public to see. MG’s, Fords Escorts and Granada’s, Austin Cambridge’s, Hillmans, Minis, Jags, a good selection of Morris Minors included all verities from Saloon, Tourer, Commercials, Military and of course my Police Panda plus almost every British - made Car.
By the end of the day we managed to get home just before the rain started again.
