Barry Island FOT
Sunday 8th. June 2008
Sunny Sunday 8th. June saw over 100 classic vehicles attend this event. This show was held just outside Barry Island at The Waterfront, Barry.
Being a very hot and sunny day many of the visiting public saw us all arrive and set-up. Clubs like the Jaguars and Gwent MG Owners, Glamorgan Classic car club and the Skewen Motor club arranged their own areas of field
The Morris Minors LCV Vans owned
by Mr Russell Harvey and Mr Ashley Lovering were on display.
Upon arrival we set - up at the back against the perimeter fence that overlooked the round-a-bout. We could see that there was at least another two police vehicles that made it to the show ground. a classic 1950's Woolsley owned by a member of the Glamorgan classic Car club and a Morris 1100 Panda owned and restored by Mr Lee Jones from Pontypool
To help with the flow of visitors, Vintage open topped buses took some of the shows exhibitors to the sea front at Barry. While "The Island Express" a fully restored steam engine ran a special time table that took and also brought visitors to the show ground for all those who wanted a quick steam train ride instead of going by bus.
