with Varity (USA) to become Lucas Varity.

Lucas Varity sells it's Heavy Vehicle Braking Systems division to Meritor Automotive (USA) for £235m.
1999
Lucas Varity plc. accepts a bid of 4 billion pounds for the company by TRW (USA).

Meritor Automotive Inc. (USA) merged with Arvin Industries (USA) to become Arvin Meritor Inc.
