The Webster team sponsored walk from Blaenavon to Cwmbran Stadium in aid of Tenovus the cancer charity took place on Friday 29th June
The Webster team met early Friday morning at the Civic Centre, Pontypool, to catch a minibus kindly provided by Excel Cars of Cwmbran |to take the team to the start point near the Whistle Inn, Blaenavon.
They set off at 8:40am from the Whistle Inn at a steady pace taking in the views of the Garn Lakes to join the cycle path (Route 46).
The walkers passed Forgeside, Varteg, Abersychan, Talywain, Pentwyn and Cwmffrwd-oer, stopping off at Pontypool park where they took a break for lunch.
The time soon came to set off again on the second leg of the walk from Pontypool park, along the canal to Cwmbran.
The pace was a little slower now as many walkers were starting to suffer from blisters and aching feet and legs.
The canal soon came into view passing Griffithstown, Sebastopol, Five Locks, Pontnewydd and on to Cwmbran town centre.
The team were all relieved when Cwmbran Stadium came into view where the walk reached its end.
All members of the team managed to complete the fifteen miles battling through their aches and pains.
"You don't realise what wonderful countryside we have on our door steps in Torfaen", said Andy Wilson.
The Walkers were Keri Gould, Andy Wilson, Julia Rice, Simon Dunford, Sandra Kane, David Jones, Donna Edwards-John, Julia Evans, and Jonathan Stonehouse.
The Walk was in aid of Tenovus the cancer charity and the team have now raised in excess of £1000!
