Meet Phoebe Evans - the baby in such a hurry to be born she ended up slipping through her astonished mum's fingers and onto the bathroom floor
Such was the speed with which she came into the world, dad Gavin Evans was still telephoning for an ambulance when partner Kate Jenkins gave birth.
She had woken up at their flat in Aran Court, Thornhill, Cwmbran, at 5am needing the toilet, but soon realised her second child was on the way.
Barely 10 minutes later Phoebe was born and her parents had to overcome their shock and make sure she was safe and warm until the paramedics arrived.
"I was talking to the controller and heard Kate screaming "it's coming, it's coming!" Then she shouted to me to come and see my daughter," said 27-year-old Mr Evans.
"I thought she was joking. I couldn't believe it when I went in. But they're both all right, that's the main thing."
Ms Jenkins, 25, who also has a 20-month-old daughter Kiera, cannot believe how quickly events unfolded.
"I wasn't due for three days and I'd had a couple of false alarms, so when I'd woken up earlier, at about 3am, I went back to sleep," she said.
"I managed to move away from the toilet, but she slipped through my fingers and landed on the bathroom floor.
"I was screaming at Gavin to help, but by the time he'd finished phoning the ambulance she was already born.
"The flats in this block share a ventilation system so unfortunately I woke the neighbours, but everything happened so quickly."
Ms Jenkins and Phoebe were allowed home from the Royal Gwent Hospital later that day, February 18, after a check-up.
"I don't think I'll be having any more children.
How would I top that? The next one would have to be born on an aeroplane to compete!" she said.
