National Poetry Day 2005

This World By Gerard Dupe

Do we think the world's gone barmy

since we had this great tsunami?

Wasting time and little sense

to some it makes no difference

No time to talk to give some time

to others makes the biggest crime

We waste our youth, we waste our hours,

we complain when there are showers

But other abroad are scrounging for bread

this is a mad world, it must be said
