Recall By M. R. Parker
I wish I'd had to write a verse
or worse a diatribe, on why
I'd like to fly.
I envied birds, the way they flew
In the blue, the blue wide sky,
up, up they'd fly.
I said why can't I grow
wings to go above so high?
why can't I fly?
"Tis gravity and nature's laws;
no claws, no wings, no tail, no cause to cry;
they would reply."
and then I said "does god fly?"
