National Poetry Day 2005

Another World by Gerard Dupe

When your world is crashing slowly to the floor

I will be waiting there to take your hand

and I'll find some time so we can both explore

Those paths of life that you don't understand.

And though we might be old and sometimes weak

when we are one we need we need nobody there

As we find time to unwind we are inclined to speak

out with one voice in that we share

And our world is richer for the things we see

are there for everyone and we are free

It doesn't matter of the others there

when we are on another world we share.
