PoemsOfTheMonth

keeping fit

gym

The Gym

Showered and dressed

With my sports bra done up tight

That pretty lacy half cup

Is just not right

For the sweating and the panting

 the cycling and the running

this is definitely not the moment

I will look a little stunning

Putting in this effort will be time well spent

Investment for my fitness

Being fat I was never meant

Perhaps a little cuddly

Will have to do

But I really want my jeans to fit

Without looking like there're stuck with glue

I know I will never be that perfect size 10

But I really want to look good

In my suspenders again

So its with gritted teeth

And my tummy pulled in

I will do my best

To get sort of slim

And when my goal is reached

And the job is done

I will treat myself

To a current bun

A few glasses of red

A sausage roll too

Is it really worth doing

Trying to make myself brand new

Or should I just give in

To the middle aged spread

An enjoy another hour

In my nice warm bed.

No…….I will be really pleased

When the summer comes

That I persevered

With the legs, bums and tums
