PoemsOfTheMonth

A Christmas Story

Come gather up children
Image of a green three eyed alien carrying a tray of mince piesall round the tree.
And I’ll tell you a Tale
my Father told me.

It was once upon a time
And a long time ago.
when the whole of the world
Was covered in snow.

It topped off the mountains
and filled the valley’s below.
Way over the roof tops
Did the wind make it blow.

Then in the night sky
a star did appear.
It was quite far away
but so big it looked near.

For quite a long while
It just hung in the sky.
Till the light grew quite dim
then it looked like a pie.

It flew to the ground
then three legs did appear.
They sank into the snow
And it did look quite queer.

A door on the side
did open quite quick.
And out walked a man
With three eyes and a stick.

He said he had come
from a star far away.
He gave us each a mince pie
and he flew on is way.

That’s why every Christmas
we have a mince pie.
So we can remember
the three eyed man from the sky
