Friendship

by Nigel (aka The Tin Dog)

The weekend began just as normal, at the Bush Inn around about eight.

A gathering of friends, quite informal, discussing their lives, as of late.

But the Tin Dog's mind was off drifting; thinking of dreams, hopes and fears.

The contents of life, he was sifting, and trying to hold back the tears.

On advice from a friend he was musing, on relationships both old and new.

How emotions can be so confusing. What was the poor Tin Dog to do ?

And after the evening had ended, the Tin Dog went back to his flat.

He thought of the one he'd befriended, and wondered if she'd like to chat.

With Messenger duly ignited, the Tin Dog saw she was online.

Into conversation invited, maybe things would just turn out fine.

Now his friend was so thoughtful and caring, she brought the Tin Dog around.

Such warmth, compassion and sharing, meant a truly uplifted hound.

They chatted for what seemed like hours, in words and pictures and sound.

By whatever marvellous powers, the Tin Dog a true friend had found.

Some time later, just as day was dawning, the Tin Dog would just like to send,

A greeting on Saturday morning, to a dear and wonderful friend.
