Mrs Never Smile

Image of Poem of the Month banner featuring images of spring flowers

Old Mrs never smile

I see her every day

Never a smile upon her face

At any time of day

I pass her every morning

And give a nod and smile

But she just frowns

And looks away

I guess it’s not her style

No matter when you see her

Her mouth is drooping down

If she got a job in a circus

She’d make a good sad clown

I know we all got troubles

That can make us sad and blue

But you got to smile

Now and again

To let the sun shine through
