Love Rider
Temper ablaze, his mind in one mode
His face was as dark as the hunter he rode
Hair flying free that slapped his frozen face
On, on he rode his horse at full pace
The paws of his hound that ran as his guide
Pattered the ground by the horse at his side
Bursting through hedgerows and brush as they went
Kicking up turf to the four winds was sent
Nearer, and nearer came rider and hound
The twinkle of lights shone from the town
Amits the great hall were bride and her groom
Reception of wedlock progress on since noon
Before wedding night and marriage endorsed
Came rider and hound, temper and horse
His eyes filled with fire his horse in full sweat
He came for his love one he could not forget
She blushed when she saw him, when she had his glance
Amit’s the last twirl, in the last dance
Her heart now a pounding beneath silken gown
What can be done now his love he’s shown
He leapt from the hunter and swept her to him
And in one quick movement he did the great sin
He mounted his steed with her in his grasp
He dug in his spurs and off with a crash
Furniture broken and wine as been spilt
The wedding is over in this shameful jilt
Off at full gallop the hound on his heels
Bride gone forever without an appeal
Rider and bride, horse and the hound
Charge through the streets and out of the town
And who can say if this was so wrong
Showing ones feeling with love that’s so strong.
