For Just One Time
(for Andy, Hope we meet again)
Before the sun sets on my final day 
And I walk into unfamiliar land
Before the last star dims to black
Just for one time I'd like to hold your hand
Before the pendulum slows to a stop
And the last flake of snow settles in place
Before my spirit leaves the wreckage of life
Just for one time I'd like to gaze at your face
So I will dedicate each hour and day to come
Search this world in the hope we meet
Write a thousand poems just to hope you see one
For some time with you to make my life complete
Before I become as cold as a ray of moonlight
And my soul is called by a higher force
Before the breeze carries my final breath
Let me hear again that gentle voice of yours
Before the words we said are long forgotten
And memories slip from the hearts gentle tug
Before I have to say goodbye to you forever
Will you meet me one time and give me that hug?
