Fire On The Mountain

They lit fires on the mountain
They thought it would be fun
To set fire to the mountain
Then run, run and run

The birds upon that mountain
Didn't see it as a lark
As they tried to save their babies
In the fire and the dark

Nor did the snakes and lizards
And the baby rabbits
Who like to play
Their dead and roasted bodies
Can be seen up there today

The once green and yellow mountain
Is now dead and filled with ash
And the wildlife may never recover
Because some fool lit a match
