Butterfly

Image of animated butterfly on a dandilion

I dreamt I was a butterfly
Fluttering gracefully in the sky
The summer sun catching my iridescent wings
When all around the songbird sings
The warm breeze gently caresses my face
As the flowers offer a welcoming place
So many to choose from where will I land
To sample the nectar readily at hand
No cares have I in this world I dream
Just happiness and contentment it would seem
No heartaches and sadness burden my soul
No regrets, No broken promises take their toll
As I flutter there so carefree
Warmed by the sun only goodness I see
And as I slowly awake from this dream
Reality sets in and I want to scream
Oh why can't I return to the Utopia I have found
And not have to exist with both feet firmly on the ground
