A new recording studio in Pontypool aims to create a generation of recording stars.
ROC-IT, on the Pontnewynydd industrial estate, is a not for profit organisation equipped with the latest up-to-date recording equipment.
It is open to local musicians and artists to record their music.
The studio, operated by Dragon Bands, also offers training including guitar, drum and bass lessons and Internet radio training.
The studio held an open day on Saturday, with live bands performing. Founder Angie Byrne, who started Dragon Bands, an organisation set up to help young musicians get gigs and make music, said: "This is the first community studio in Torfaen and it's open to all. There is a negotiable charge for studio time.
"There is a real need for this. We want to work with youngsters." European funding for the project was secured by Torfaen council through the Rural Key fund.
