Lymington
An historic town engaged in ship building and fishing since around the 1500s.
There is much to see relating to this including a large marina and ferry point to the Isle of Wight.

Saturday is market day and well worth a visit. The town is based on the high street and the quayside which is by far the oldest part. Check out the cobble stone hill from the bottom of town to the quay area.Plenty of places to stay with a range of prices to suit most.
The Mill at Gordleton on the sway road (Silver Street) offers comfortable rooms and suites in a most charming location. The place is on a mill pool and river surrounded by stunning well maintaned grounds.
The resturant is a little upmarket for some but something not to be missed. If you don't try things you will never know. There is a lunchtime evening menu. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The sea side at Milford on Sea and Keyhaven (Hurst Castle) is within a few miles.
