Well it's that time of year once more when we are all looking forward to a special treat at Christmas. But first lets all spare a thought for those not so well off this year.
The elected officers finally had a meeting with Council representatives to discuss the Society's use of the lake on Sunday's and if possible Wednesday afternoons. The meeting resulted in positive feedback from them, with a promise of some draft paperwork. No surprise to us, as of today we are still waiting for it to turn up, several weeks after the promised date. We have seen over the last few weeks a greater presence of Council Staff and Police patrols, resulting in the society members having the designated area of water to sail on.
We held our Chairman's Cup Competition in October. The Shield being presented to Clive who brought along his grandson's paddleboat and the cup being presented to me for my Landing Craft Motorised. [Competition Report]
Thanks to Brian I now have some video and still picture's of some of the events we have supported over the last two years. I'll have to spend some time to update the society's history video records on these WEB pages.
The members present at the last meeting decided to cancel December's meeting, as the due date was very close to Christmas.
Several of the Society members have turned up at lakeside, this year, with new models, despite the problems we were having with some of the anglers present. Several being entered in this year Chairman's Cup Competitions in January and October.
The Society is hoping for a better year in 2010 at home and when travelling away to visit friends at they're sailing venues.
The Society members convey their Seasonal Greetings to all and wish our readers who are interested in what ever hobby activity they wish to follow fine weather, good health, plenty of spare time with family members that are prepared to support them with their hobby / sport, of their choice.
