Choir Profile M.D and Accomp.
The choir was re-named in July 2004, and at the same time appointed a new Musical Director Mr. Lyn Weaver.
The choir is formed with ladies from within the County Borough of Torfaen they rehearse in the schoolroom of the Congregational Church Griffithstown near Pontypool every Monday evening at 7.00pm.
The choir has a varied repetoire from the classics to music from the shows, they are justly proud of the help they have been able to give, in raising money for various charities local and nationally.
The annual concert in September 2011 with The Rhymney Silurian Male Choir raised 600 pounds for the MacMillan Nurses and was a wonderful night of song and laughter with compere Mike Gough leading the proceedings.
The next public engagement is at 1pm appearance on the big stage at Cwmbran Boating Lake as part of the Big Event Finale on Saturday 9th June 2012.
The annual concert is 7pm on Saturday 8th September at Llanyravon Methodist Church, Cwmbran with guest choir from Liverpool the Aughton Male Choir.
The Christmas carol concert is at the practice rooms on Monday 3rd December at 7pm. All welcome.
Musical Director
Mr. Lyn Weaver I.H.B.C
Born in Tredegar Gwent, Lyn is very well known in the amateur operatic and drama world of Gwent, a very accomplished actor and singer is a member of Newport Operatic Society and has been awarded a long service medal and bar for his work in Amateur Operatics and Drama by N.O.D.A over 35 years, he also just happens to be a qualified make-up artist for films, TV and of course theatre. Lyn is also Organist at Hope Methodist Church Pontnewydd. Until his appointment last year Lyn had never conducted a ladies choir, his previous choral experience being mixed voices, so far he tells us he is enjoying his time with the ladies. Since conducting the Linden Singers he and Mrs Steed have been honoured with the presdigious music award of the Order of St Celilia for their long careers in music making, by the choirs new vice president.
Accompanist
Kirsten Watson L.T.C.L BEd.Hons.Mus.
Appointed in January 2007 Kirsten is a qualified music and piano teacher. She graduated from The Welsh College of Music and Drama to begin a career in music teaching and performing. She teaches numerous children and adults music in the locality since 1986. She enjoys performing and held posts as accompanist to the Pontypool Male Voice and Cardiff Arms Park choirs and now the Linden Singers. She enjoys helping to keep the Welsh tradition of choral singing alive.

Richard Willis
Over the years Richards has played for a number of Amateur Operatic Societies in Kent and Buckinghamshire as well as more recently here in Gwent.
