New Harmony Singers
Registered as a Charity – a member of the Torfaen Voluntary Alliance
It was twenty-eight years ago in 1979 that Pamela Guy, together with her accompanist Heather Langdon, brought into being the New Harmony Singers. Their dedictaion has made teh singers into the force that they are today. Based in Torfaen, South Wales - a country domainted by male voice choirs - they carved their own particular niche on the Welsh choral movement, bringing variety and high entertainment value to their professional stage performances.
Since their formation, the group has raised in excess of £100,000 for charities locally and elsewhere. They have shared concerts with choirs from Bethlehem USA, Germany and France. The group thoroughly enjoy their music and have won a number of trophies over the years, including the Bath & Mid Somerset Festival and the Gladys Ridout Cup from the Bournemouth Music Festival.
In 2004 the Singers celebrated their 25th Anniversary in style, beginning with a concert with Caroline Sheen from the West End. In the October they travelled to Longjumeau in France to perform a special Twinning concert and completed their tour by singing in the Fantasy Stage Theatre in the Magic Kingdom at Disneyland Paris – a wonderful credit to the whole group.
New Harmony Singers look forward to many more years of music-making and welcome all enquiries for performing concerts, or if you are interested in becoming a member and are either a Soprano, Alto, Tenor or Bass, please get in touch………..we look forward to hearing from you.
